Creating an unforgettable summer and a sense of community starts on the Tentsides. Outdoor living is the cornerstone of our tradition, and many former and current campers cite this as one of their favorite parts of the Echo Hill experience. The magic of the outdoors and the connection made with the natural world is rarely replicated anywhere else. Generations of campers have spent their summers sleeping under the stars with the gentle breeze rolling off the Bay. EHC alumni yearn for the sounds of summer nights, the connection to nature, the sound of rain on the tent roof, and remembering happy times together with their friends. Living outside for weeks at a time with only canvas between you and the elements is a life-defining adventure.
Tent Sides
A signature part of the Echo Hill overnight camp experience is living in our platform tents. Our living areas are open-air tents and a few cabins scattered around the heart of the Tentside. The 16’ x 16’ tent has four to six bunk beds with trunks and other personal items finding homes underneath or around the beds. Campers bring their own linens, pillows, and blankets to make up the 5-inch mattress on their bunk bed. Bug nets that hang over the bed, are provided for every camper. The showers are a short walk from the Tentsides. Bathrooms are privy style with 6 individual stalls for privacy. Showering is in an outdoor structure where you can chat with your friends and bathe under the sun or stars. Private changing areas and shower stalls are available. Tent life helps campers learn respect, mutual care and understanding for others. It also helps campers grow socially and allows for conversations and creative activities to organically arise amongst themselves. |
