CAMPER UPDATES
If you ever have a question or concern about your child, how they are adjusting to camp life, interacting with their counselors and other campers, or even just liking the food, we encourage you to contact our Directors by emailing info@echohillcamp.com. We are more than happy to give you an update at any time. Likewise, if we ever feel your child is struggling for some reason (for example, homesickness), we will certainly reach out to you, explain what’s happening and let you know how we are helping them work through the issue. In all such cases, we will work together to help your child.
SNAIL MAIL
Campers love to receive regular mail. Every Monday through Saturday after lunch, mail is distributed to your child’s tent. Give out the camp address to friends and relatives, too! Keep the tone encouraging and positive. We suggest you practice addressing an envelope with your child before they arrive. Send Mail to:
Camper’s Name
Echo Hill Camp

Worton, MD 21678
EMAIL & E-LETTERS
We are happy to be able to offer you CampMinder’s email “eLetter” program. Using the same secure username and password that you used to enroll your child, the “Email” tab in the Parent Portal, will allow you to send a certain number of emails to your child. You can also create guest accounts for grandparents and other relatives. Every morning, we print emails and deliver them with the camper mail after lunch. These emails are printed by 12pm so any email you’d like sent out that day, needs to be received prior to 12. No camper mail will be delivered on Sunday’s.
If you would like to receive handwritten letters from your camper electronically, you can request a response by clicking next to the box “I would like a handwritten eLetter reply to this email.” Alternatively, send your camper with eLetter stationery! You just print the pages at home and send them with your camper(s). The camp office will scan your camper's letter to CampMinder, and you receive the handwritten letter into your eLetter inbox.
CARE PACKAGES
Care packages that contain food are limited to one per session. For example, if your child is here for a 2-week session they are allowed 1 care package with treats during that time. If your child is here for 4 weeks, then you can send 2 care packages that contain treats. The amount of food you send in the package should be just enough for every camper in your child's tent to enjoy a small treat in one 10-minute sitting, with no left overs. If there are left overs your child will not be able to save it to eat later.
You are more than welcome to send packages that contain magazines, books, crosswords, card games, clothing, etc. We do not have a limit on the number of packages of this type that you can send your child.
Regardless of whether you are sending food or not, your child will open ALL packages addressed to them in the office under the supervision of a staff member. All food from care packages must be eaten on the lawn, in one sitting, outside the main office. The campers may not bring ANY food to the living area. Please inform relatives and friends about this policy as their packages must meet this limited food requirement as well. Please do not to send your child anything on our "Packing and What not to bring list”.
PHOTOS AND CAMP EVENTS
We know how important it is for you to feel connected to your child while apart. We are happy to be able to offer you CampMinder’s Photo Gallery located in your Parent Portal. Using the same secure user name and password that you used to enroll your child, you will have free access to our Photo Gallery, which will be updated once each session. In March, the highly anticipated Yearbook, chock full of hundreds of photos and memories from the summer, will arrive! Every year on December 28th and 29th we hold a winter reunion for the campers that attended camp that same year.
