Are you ready for the time of your life? Whether this is your first summer away from home or your 10th, preparing for camp is just the beginning of the excitement. If you don't find the answer you are seeking on this page or the website, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Packing List
Yay! Packing time is here! Download the packing list for suggested items to bring to camp. Most campers bring their belongings in a trunk or similar storage unit. The size of the trunk should be based on your child's individual needs and it does not need to fit under their bed. There is no required uniform, so any suitable informal clothing may be used. We suggest packing enough clothes for at least one week. Laundry is done for your child once each session. To help with your packing list, head to Everything Summer Camp for fun & functional camp gear! Any purchase you make is 100% optional. All clothing and belongings should be marked with your child's name. It is a good idea to tape a list of your child's belongings to the inside lid of their storage unit. |
Set Some goals
Whether it’s an activity that you wish to learn or improve on, or friendships you'd like to develop, both new and old, it’s a good idea to set some goals for the summer. You can keep these goals stored away in your head to remember throughout the summer, or even write them on a piece of paper and hide it in your trunk/suitcase to cross out accomplishments. The summer is constantly evolving, so feel free to add more goals to your list once you’re there. Summer camps are here for you to learn what you want and do what you want so take advantage of all the opportunities camp has to offer.

Connect with Camp Community
Summertime has a particular mood to it that is drastically different from the school year. Many veteran campers and longtime staff members call this summer attitude “camp mode,” and it can start before you even arrive. Catch up with us on our facebook page to see what has been going on at camp, what (if any) changes camp has seen since last summer, and think about how your days will go. Start imagining your free times with your tent mates without homework, days spent on the bay while experiencing impeccable weather, and evenings laughing uncontrollably to some of your best friends making fools of themselves in front of camp. During the summer you’ll have a new routine compared to your home life, so it’s best to prepare for it in advance so you can assimilate to the summer as soon as possible once you’re here.
Connect with Camp Friends
If you’re a returning camper, you know that your camp friends are at least half of what makes camp so much fun, summer after summer. If it has been awhile since you last communicated with your camp friends, try reaching out before the summer begins to get excited together for what is sure to be another terrific summer. With your parents’ permission, connect with them over the internet, one of the most useful tools for keeping in touch with those you can’t physically see for long periods of time, or give them a call to see what’s been happening in their life. Maybe create your personalized packing list together, being sure to remember the little things you forgot last year.
If this is your first summer, you have nothing to fear! If you happen to be coming to camp for the first time with a friend from home, as is sometimes the case, maybe do some reconnaissance with him/her on what to expect and how to prepare. If you’re simply coming to camp without knowing anyone, be ready for a ton of friendly people in your first few days. Making friends at camp is never something to stress about, and before you know it, you’ll be exchanging phone numbers to keep in touch all year long.

Remember to Pack Accordingly
Packing can often trip up even the most seasoned campers, with campers forgetting everything from towels to underwear. Make sure you check out our packing list and then double check it to make sure you won’t be leaving behind anything crucial. If you arrive and realize you forgot anything, or something pops up halfway through your stay and you require something you weren’t prepared for, we can always take care of getting supplies on the spot, with a fully stocked toiletry cabinet and plenty of capability to make a town run for anything we don’t have on camp. See You Soon! It’s easy for all of the anxious nerves that come with the start of summer to turn into stress, but try to fight those feelings, and get excited instead! Camp is going to be a whirlwind of fun, as it always is, and if you go in feeling nervous, the feelings will quickly dissipate once you pass the welcome sign on your first day. |
