When my family moved from Santa Barbara, CA, to Bethesda, MD, my parents sent me to a sleep-away summer camp.  At the time, all I knew about "my" camp was the name: Echo Hill Camp on the Chesapeake Bay.  I remember being nervous and not terribly excited to go.  I must have liked it because more than 40 years later I'm still here!
After graduating college I taught Remedial Reading and Kindergarten for 5 years in Concord, NH.  Teaching gave me June through August off so I happily continued to spend my summers at camp. I began to realize that as much as I loved teaching, my heart was at Echo Hill, and I packed my car and moved to camp to work full-time with Peter.

I am grateful to be a part of helping children feel comfortable and happy about who they are while they gain independence and confidence in a safe, non-judgmental and nurturing environment.
